It's my first trip to Bali for 5 nights - should I book accommodation in Ubud or Seminyak?
It's my first time going to Bali and I can't decide on which area to visit. I have a 5-night itinerary and I prefer relaxing and visiting cafes over surfing. I'm also wondering whether to stay in one place the whole time or split my stay between two areas. I'd appreciate advice from anyone who's been there!
If it's your first time in Bali and you love relaxation and cafes, I recommend staying in Ubud the whole time. Ubud is where Bali's culture and nature blend together beautifully. You can swing on the Bali swing at Tegallalang Rice Terrace, meet monkeys at Monkey Forest, and even experience a spiritual cleansing ritual at Tirta Empul. Plus, there are so many cafes with great vibes in Ubud that you could spend days just doing a cafe tour. You should definitely visit the BaliPick-recommended cafes like Fold Ubud and Ubud Coffee Roastery. On the other hand, Seminyak is appealing for its beach atmosphere and beach club and cafe culture, but if relaxation is your priority rather than surfing, there's no need to split your 5 nights between the two areas. With 5 nights, you can enjoy Ubud comfortably at a leisurely pace, and then either do a day trip to Seminyak or stay there for just the last 1-2 nights to soak in the beach vibe. Staying in one place is more convenient for packing and you'll become familiar with your driver, making travel easier—which is even better for your first trip. If you stay in central Ubud and add a day trip to catch the sunset at Tanah Lot or visit Nusa Penida, you'll be able to experience Bali's charm across the board. You can also check BaliPick for Korean restaurants and cafes in Ubud to make planning even more convenient.
